I Won!

Hello Dearies! Every now and then I get a little lucky and this was one of those times. I won an instagram contest from the lovely Kara at @NERDJANEHOOPER. I got this super rad earrings! I love just love them! She has a really cool store you should all check out at etsy. Besides jewelry, she also does some pretty kick butt embroidery stuff too.

This isn't really an advertising post. I wasn't asked to do it. I just wanted to show off a bit that I actually won something and say thank you :)

Belly Laughs

This body painting is a throw back to this summer when I was still preggers. It's not something that I have ever done before so I apologize for the quality. It turns out that painting your own belly (especially when you can't even see the bottom half of it) is like really really hard. And in all honesty never something I would normally do. One of my twitter friends was doing a scavenger hunt and asked if I would help her out with a pregnant belly painting. I have huge stretch marks and I was already a good sized chunk before I got pregnant so I really thought I would be embarrassed to share my belly with the world but this was actually fun. Oh and I put on my Homer shirt because I wanted to be all match-ie. It was not my intent to make my boobs look like giant eyeballs. That just sorta happened :)

Costumes ideas - Ghost

So fun fact about this makeup, I put it on while the babe was sleeping. When he woke up to eat he just stared at me all wide eyed for about three minutes. Then he started to cry. I had to wash it all off before he would eat.
I was really happy with how this makeup turned out. I needed to go a little stronger on the white foundation I think but overall it looked really cool!

Past Costumes - My Fawn

Fawn (6)
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I loved this makeup. Confession time: I actually forgot to paint on my nose until just before I took these photos. Haha! You can see how much that effects the makeup in the photo with my bunny (RIP Wreck It Rabbit. I miss you) I put my hair up to look sort of like ears and I put twigs in my hair as antlers.

Past Costumes - Sugar Skulls

Sugar Skulls (5)
You don't know how much you touch your face until you can't touch it anymore. Haha! But seriously, this was such a fun makeup (and it turns out I scratch my nose a lot. Don't ask my why it's so itchy. I don't know). I crocheted the hatter hat with spider web veil. If you'd like to make your own, you can check out my post about it from my crochet blog and find links to the pattern HERE. My Bestie made her own flower crown with fake flowers. I think she hot glued them to a headband. It looked amazing! My only issue with this makeup is that you can't smile. I mean it. When you show your real teeth in a makeup that includes drawn on teeth, it looks super weird. So we had to be super serious in all our photos :)

Past Costumes - My Raven

I'm going to be honest. The very first time I heard anything about Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven was on an episode of The Simpsons. It's still one of my favorite episodes. I love it so much that the Bart Simpson raven is one my planned tattoos.
This costume was not something that was overly planned. It just sort of came together. I usually have my Halloween costumes planned out months in advance. This year I had almost no inspiration.. It wasn't until I found this cool mask (there is a name for it. I know the name. It's on the tip of my tongue. But I for the life of me cannot spit it out. Feel free to comment and scold me) that I came up with a raven idea. I bought the mask and some black wings and a black blouse. I didn't want to go totally "bird" I wanted it to be a bit alternative. My best-est besty did my makeup. She gave me a kick ass smokey eye and then she did this really cool lacey thing. I just love how it turned out. I felt wonderful in this makeup!
