5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Fandom Accessories I Own

Hello Dearies! This one was kind of hard because I have my toys and my clothes but I don’t have many accessories. Now I know that is something I need to work on :)

1. Star Wars Mugs: I know these aren't technically an accessory but if you drank coffee and tea as much as me, you’d count them. Haha!

2. My TARDIS Necklace: This is one of my newest favorite things. It was a surprise gift from a friend I made on twitter. Best Surprise ever! I like to pair her with my robot necklace. I think they go well together  :)

3. My flying Monkey: Ok so Wizard of Oz is my bliss! I found this necklace in some old goth store when I was in high school. It’s probably the oldest piece of jewelry I own. He is my spirit animal and I love him.

4. My Super Hero Necklace: Who doesn't want a necklace that says “Pow!” I used to wear this when I worked out. It was really an inspiration to kick but like a super!

5. My Dino Bag: Isn't this just the cutest bag ever. He’s just as cuddly as he looks too. Btw, the laundry in the background of this photo is clean, I just haven’t folded it yet. Haha!

Bonus 1. My Zombie Necklaces: Sorry, I can’t pick a favorite. I have a soft spot for zombies. I wear these all the time and people love to tell me that Halloween is over. Thems are fighting words :) Haha! Kidding, I’m a lover, not a fighter.

Bonus 2. Mini Super Man and Baby Super Man: Ok not gonna lie, these are hard to come by. You have to grow them yourselves. It’s a nine month incubation period and once they are out, they are unbelievably expensive. Plus you really don’t know if they’ll turn out the way you want. You try your best to raise them right and then one day they turn to you and say “Mommy, my favorite super is Green Lantern” … SMH. But still totally worth it if you have the time and money. I wouldn’t trade mine for the world… but we will have a serious talk about this green lantern nonsense! :)

My closet

Hello Dearies! So I really like my closet, like a lot! I'm not a clothing and shoes girl so I'm not showing off about my last shopping spree... I don't spree. The reason I love it is because it is the only thing of mine that is well, Decorated! I've mentioned before that I spend all my time on my kids rooms and it's true. Their room is adorable. My baby's corner in my room is a nerdy bubble of awesome! The rest of my room is just 3 1/2 blank walls. Empty boring walls. I have things ready to do but I am stubborn and I don't want to put them up   just to have to take them down when we move this year. So I live in a boring room just waiting... But my closet is awesome... ok, it's stuffed and a bit messy and not very big, but it's awesome to me! I love it. I have my childhood camp photos hanging on the walls. I have all of my jewelry hanging on the walls. I have a cool old scarf in an embroidery hoop that I use to hang all my earrings. I have paintings on my shelves. I have my favorite quotes hanging on the walls and sitting on my shelves. I have an almost avalanche of books stuffed up onto my shelves. My shelf actually wraps around and covers two walls in my closet and my closet has really high ceilings so there is crap-ton more books than shown in the photos below. This one of of my little happy places.

5 Fandom Friday: Songs that make me happy

Hello Dearies! So my tastes in music are all over the place. These songs aren't ones I would necessarily put together in a play list and listen to together but they are all awesome and they bring me back to great times in my life and make me very happy. This list won't even begin to scratch the serface of my love of music, I really do listen to everything. I love oldies, 80's and 90's pop, Grunge, Metal, Rap, European Techno, Country, I'm actually a little surprised that a country song didn't make my top 5. I love it all. I hate talk radio and commercials so I am constantly searching through channels to try and find new music.

1. Stop, Spice Girls: I am huge into girl groups and there was none better than the Spice Girls. I even got to see them in concert once. You don't have to ask, I will admit it. I still know every move to this dance.

2. Learn to Crawl, Black Lab: The Spiderman soundtrack is still to this day my favorite soundtrack and this is my favorite song from the album.

3.Best I ever had, Vertical Horizon: Still the "love lost" song that gets me every time. There is a country version of this song that I love too but if I had to choose, this one would be my favorite.

4. Invisible Man, 98 Degrees: Besides girl groups, I also love the boys. People can fight back and forth about the best (and I do have a favorite) but I really love them all. While 98 degrees aren't my favorite boy band, this song is my favorite boy band song of all. Their harmonies are just so so so good!

5. Kiss Me: I saved the best for last. This has been my favorite song for years. Every time I hear it, I am immediately put in a good mood. It is my musical happy place.

Bonus song:

I believe in a thing called Love, The Darkness: So this song is actually an inside joke to me and all my friends. It's an awesome song to begin with but it also makes us laugh hysterically about a time in our lives when this song first came out.

Hello Dearies! Every now and then I get a little lucky and this was one of those times. I won an instagram contest from the lovely Kara at @NERDJANEHOOPER. I got this super rad earrings! I love just love them! She has a really cool store you should all check out at etsy. Besides jewelry, she also does some pretty kick butt embroidery stuff too.

5 Fandom Friday: My Favorite Things About Winter

Hello Dearies! I am a winter girl all the way. I don’t hate summer… but I have no real use for it. If I never spent another day at the beach or by a pool, I would be just fine.

1. Hot Chocolate: I don’t think I could ever put into words how much I love thee. You complete me.

2. Snow: Give me a blizzard any day. If I could live in a place that snowed all year round I would. Since I’m the only person in my group of friends that enjoys winter, there is a running joke that I have magical snow moccasins and I dance whenever it snows :)

3. Scarves, mittens, hats: I love to knit them, crochet them and wear them. They are my favorite accessory.

4. Lights: I have an a serious love of lights. Every time I see bedrooms decorated with a string of lights, I get excited. If I was single, I would totally rock it but the hubby won’t let me keep em up all year round.

5. Cardinals: I haven’t been able to capture any good shots but I leave out bird seed and I see several every winter. They are big and beautiful and their awesome red feathers are really striking against the winter snow.

Fandom Friday: NEW YEARS FANDOM RESOLUTIONS

Hello Dearies! Sorry, my computer is not being nice today so this post will be photo minimal :(

1) Put my Geek room together. I've been building an awesome nerdy collection of things that make me happy and adorn my walls but right now I’m avoiding putting the room together just to have to take it back down again. You see, I had a baby this year and we HAVE to move to a bigger place. The dream house I found fell through so I won’t be putting my home together as soon as I had hoped, but it will happen this year. I’ll share tons more on this later :)

2) Finish my Hellboy collection. Hellboy is my favorite character and I have been trying to get all the books from his original story line. I’m only a few short so this goal will probably be met early in the year. YAY!!!!!

3) Reinvent my photography business. I am a photographer by profession and I love it but I don’t always get the chance to do the style of shoots that I want to do. I want to be more specific in targeting clients.

4) Read more. Everyone says this, I know, but it’s because we all need to. I don’t know everyone else's story but for me it’s becoming more and more difficult to find time to myself. The number of books I read in 2014 is embarrassingly low. I’m hoping to change that this year.

5) Work more on Crafts. I’m a jack of all trades. I really do do everything. I knit/crochet/sculpt/sew/paint/draw/make jewelry/everything! I always enjoy my crafting but just like my reading, it’s becoming less and less. Managing my time so I can do more with my day is very important to me in the upcoming year.
